Online MSN–FNP: Admissions Requirements

Minimum GPAA minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (Provisional status may be granted for those students that are below a 3.0 GPA.)
TranscriptsOfficial copies of all college transcripts
Additional Requirements
  • A current unencumbered state RN license OR NCLEX eligible

  • An up-to-date resume or CV (follow the provided template

  • Professional Essay APA Format (2 pages)

    • What skills and knowledge do you want to develop during your graduate education in nursing?

    • Develop an idea for an evidence-based project that is of interest to you (minimum 500 words) and would result in a change in patient outcome or health care delivery.

  • Three professional references using the recommender form in application

  • Prerequisite course: Statistics

*Applicants without a BSN may complete the accelerated track. This track will require the foundational courses for the BSN degree and foundational general education.

Transfer Credit

At New Mexico Highlands, we accept up to six hours of graduate transfer credits for the online MSN–FNP degree. Transfer credit is approved for the Advanced Pathophysiology course. Contact us to find out more about how to transfer your existing credit into our program.
